Outpitch

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to be in Prague for the final part of the workshop?

Yes. The on-site session takes place November 6–9, 2025 during Mezipatra Queer Film Festival. Being there in person is essential for the pitching presentation, masterclasses, and one-on-one meetings.

Is the whole program in English?

Yes. OUTPITCH is an international platform and the full program — including mentoring, workshops, and pitching — will be held in English.

What kind of projects can apply?

We accept all formats: short films, hybrid works, documentaries, series ideas — as long as the project strongly reflects queer themes or voices.

I’m a screenwriter but I don’t have a director or producer yet. Can I still apply?

Yes! While we encourage team applications, solo applicants are welcome too. You can let us know what kind of collaboration you’re looking for — we might help connect you.

I already have a full team — is that okay too?

Absolutely. Teams of up to 3 people (e.g. producer, director, writer) are encouraged to apply together.

I’m not queer, but my project explores queer themes. Can I apply?

Absolutely. OUTPITCH supports projects that authentically engage with queer narratives, regardless of the creator’s identity. If your story meaningfully reflects LGBTQ+ experiences, we welcome your application.

I’m worried about the participation fee. Can I get support?

We don’t want finances to be a barrier. If the 70 EUR fee is a problem, please reach out to us directly — we’ll do our best to work something out.

Is there an age limit?

Nope! OUTPITCH is primarily for emerging filmmakers, but there is no age limit.

Do I need to have a finished script?

No. We’re looking for projects that are in early stages of development. You should have a clear idea and direction, but not necessarily a final script.

What does the participation fee cover?

The 70 EUR fee covers:

  • 3 nights of accommodation in Prague
  • Full festival pass for Mezipatra
  • Access to all OUTPITCH events, mentoring, and networking opportunities
  • Group meals & coffee breaks during the on-site program
